Being dry is over-rated.

So roofs, how important are they anyway?

Also I make a damn good lasagna, and for someone who went thru a phase in Middle School where I only basically ate cheeseburgers or lasagna anytime our family went out to eat (and since my Mom hated to cook this was frequent), you can feel confident that I’m well qualified to make that statement.

Home Owner To Be

Well they accepted my counter to their counter offer and it looks like I’m on my way to being a home owner. Now it’s time to take a look under the hood and see what I’m really getting myself into. I hope the building inspector is good at translating to maintenance for dummy-ese seeing as the most I’ve done is hammer nails crookedly into walls. To celebrate I’m going to pay my income taxes! Hot diggity, do I know how to party or what? Then I was going to cook dinner but seeing as it’s a special day perhaps I’ll treat myself to some Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes. Mmmm cheesy….

I almost forgot! I have Girl Scout Cookies that I couldn’t eat because of Lent and my horrible misjudgment of sacrifices. Thin mints how I’ve craved ye!

Waiting

I just put an offer on this house. I will know by tomorrow night if it has been accepted. There are a lot of things I like about this house, but there are alot of things I would want to change as well. I also didn’t really try to negotiate too much for the house like my family and friends told me to as I am weak. It seemed like so much work, this whole negotiating process, and I got a mixture of anxiety and exhaustion just thinking of it. Ah well, it does no good for me to get anxious now, there is nothing I can do until tomorrow night and I have 3 Cherry Parfait Pies to make!

I’m still here…

I’m just too fat to write. Not really, but I’m in my third trimester now and fatigue is definitely catching up with me. Patience and I flew to South Carolina for the weekend to go to my cousin’s wedding. We had a really good time catching up with family. Needless to say traveling with a basketball sitting in your belly is not recommended. We got home late Monday afternoon and stepping onto solid ground was a relief. I started my new job on Tuesday and Wes and I attended the first of our 6 week childbirth classes that night. Wednesday morning I had my 30 week check up and that night we went to Passover. Today I just got home from work and am ready to collapse. Luckily the only thing on the agenda for this evening is an hour of The Office followed by an episode of How I Met Your Mother. Oh and an ice cream cone. After that, bed time.

So far the new job is going well. I’m working as an administrative assistant in the Psychiatry department of the Washington University School of Medicine. I’m glad it’s part time because I think I would be in a coma otherwise. There is definitely a learning curve for picking up all the psycho-babble terminology. I’m sure I’ll catch on pretty soon. The 30 week check up went great. The baby and I are both growing at a healthy rate. It looks like she’s cooperating position-wise, though she is a merciless kicker. Wes put his head on my belly when I got home on Monday to say hi to the baby and she kicked him in the face. She probably takes too much after me.

Okay, I’m too tired to write more for the moment. Time for a nap!
